Description

Tangipahoa and St. Helena are two of the eight parishes located in southeast Louisiana, collectively known as the Florida Parishes. St. Helena Parish was established in 1810, followed by Tangipahoa Parish in 1869.  The book contains numerous images and text  depicting African Americans in these Louisiana Parishes.
