Our Vision is to preserve, document, and celebrate the unique and diverse history of African Americans in Southeast Louisiana Florida Parishes. We honor their struggles and triumphs to cultivate a deeper understanding and respect for the narratives that shape our society. This endeavor enhances community identity and pride while offering valuable educational resources.
The Untold History Foundation (UHF) is committed to acting as a custodian for the preservation of the histories of African Americans in the Louisiana Southeast Florida Parishes. The organization records and disseminates these histories through oral testimonies, archival collections, public initiatives, media, and publications. By highlighting the contributions and challenges of African Americans in the region, the UHF mission is to cultivate a deeper understanding, protect cultural heritage, and inspire future generations to value and learn from this important legacy.
We are engaged in the formal preservation of the rich and distinctive undocumented history of African Americans within the Southeast Florida Parishes. This initiative encompasses the acknowledgment and celebration of both past and present influential leaders, such as Rev. Arthur Tasker and others, who have played a significant role in shaping the region. Additionally, the UHF is dedicated to documenting and highlighting the impactful events and individuals that have contributed meaningfully to the area’s historical and cultural landscape.
