UHF conducts research in the Southeast Louisiana tri-parishes to collect narratives, oral histories, documents, identify historical sites, and photographs that depict the experiences of African American people, while also locating repositories for these collections and presenting this history through short film productions.
The Untold History Foundation invites individuals to contribute photographs and documents for preservation and long-term care. The foundation offers services to digitize materials, protecting them from physical deterioration while enabling their accessibility to future generations. Through its expertise in archiving, the foundation ensures meticulous handling, cataloging, and storage of items, thereby preserving personal and historical narratives for purposes of research, education, and cultural enrichment. This ensures that valuable stories and artifacts are not lost to time, fostering a deeper understanding of history. By making these resources available online, the foundation supports scholars, educators, and communities in exploring and learning from the past, enriching collective knowledge and preserving cultural heritage for the future.
